George White directs Pacific Rim ISG’s Engineering Division. The engineering division assists fire investigators from Pacific Rim, other fire Cause & Origin firms, insurance claims representative, as well as the legal profession, with inspecting and testing electrical systems, appliances, and equipment at residential, commercial, and industrial fire loss sites.

When fire investigators remove evidence from loss sites, equipment examinations and inspections can be conducted in our secured laboratory facility in Corona, California. In addition to work on fire losses, Pacific Rim’s Engineering Division also investigates water losses, product defect cases, construction defect cases, and explosions. Several public agencies have called upon Pacific Rim’s Engineering division for assistance with arson and explosive cases.

After completing his Bachelor’s of Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering at Vanderbilt University, George White moved from the Southeastern United States to Los Angeles in 1986. He began his career with Servidyne, a national mechanical contractor, selling retrofit, service, and maintenance contracts on industrial air conditioning equipment for Hospitals, Government Facilities, Industrial Plants, and Commercial Real Estate firms. After two years, he was asked to move to the San Francisco Bay Area where he opened an office for Servidyne and became their local District Manager. After growing the business each year in the Bay Area, Servidyne was purchased by Johnson Controls in 1992. George continued to work for Johnson Controls selling maintenance contracts and energy service contracts for large institutions. He also assisted Boiler and Machinery Insurers on large equipment losses.

In 1995, George then left Johnson Controls and went to work for Aggreko, a Scottish company that rents industrial equipment—Generators, Chillers, and Air Compressors. He worked on a nationwide basis assisting local offices in his role as National Technical Sales. He uncovered new applications and process improvements for companies like Anheuser-Busch, Miller Brewing, Coors, and Gallo Winery among others. He also served one year as a Regional Sales Manager for the Western U.S. and three years in National Accounts.

George then returned to Johnson Controls where he was the Field Service Sales Manager with a territory encompassing Western Canada, the Western U.S., Mexico, and Brazil, with an annual sales goal of $93 million. During this time, he completed his Master’s of Business Administration at California State University Long Beach.

He also worked with TEGG, owner of a proprietary electrical testing system jointly owned by Johnson Controls and Hartford Steam Boiler, to reduce electrical fires in large facilities. In his last role at Johnson Controls, he managed a group of over 250 people and a $35 million portfolio of Facility Management and Operations & Maintenance contracts at the RAND Corporation, L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, L.A. County Internal Services Department, Camp Pendleton, Clorox, Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals, Baird Pharmaceuticals, and Merck.

In addition to his extensive Forensic and Failure Analysis experience, George has completed the following California State Fire Marshals classes: Fire Investigation 1A and 1B, and Fire Investigation 2A and 2B. George is also a licensed, Professional Engineer, registered in California.

He is an avid endurance runner, having completed four marathons and eight half-marathons.
