Jim Sloan is a 23 year veteran of the city of Arcadia Fire Department; the last 10 years, as a shift investigator assigned to a suppression company. Jim is responsible for all fire investigations within his station's response area, whether structure and/or vehicle fire incidents. He has obtained his California State Fire Marshall Office, Certified Fire Investigator designation, and he holds a AS degree from Rio Hondo Community College in fire technology. He is a member of the California Conference of Arson Investigators (CCAI), in which has also obtained his CFI rating with that professional association. He is a member of the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), in which his Certified Fire and Explosive Investigator Certification is pending. Mr. Sloan has been court-qualified as an expert in the determination of fire origin and cause within the Superior Court of the County of Los Angeles.
