Mr. Rick Grunbaum’s experience includes over 32 years of progressive fire suppression, investigations and administrative experience with the Huntington Beach Fire Department. For ten years, he has been assigned to the fire prevention bureau as the department’s fire and hazardous materials investigator; he received his CFI certification with the California State Fire Marshall’s Office, as well as his hazardous-materials certification. He is court-qualified as an expert witness in the California Superior Court of Orange and Los Angeles Counties, where he has testified numerous times in both criminal and civil litigation cases. He holds a California Teaching Credential, and has instructed classes in various topics of fire investigation classes. He has also been awarded his Certified Instructor Certification from the California State Fire Marshall’s Office. Currently a Battalion Chief assigned to the fire suppression division, Rick continues to work part-time for Pacific Rim ISG, which allows two to three days per week. Rick is anticipating retiring in 2006, for which Pacific Rim ISG will be eagerly awaiting this outstanding investigator’s full time participation.
